Three candidates, Nancy Bobo, Destiny Tavares, and Jim Glaser, have entered the 2016 race for Honorary Mayor of Burney. Each candidate has chosen a favorite charity to support. Candidates run by collecting donations. Every dollar collected counts as one vote. The money raised will be divided between the Burney Chamber of Commerce and the candidate’s charity.
Nancy Bobo (“Bobo the Clown”) is raising funds to create a new Burney Performing and Visual Arts Center. Her goal is to bring people together to promote creativity in Burney. Her Campaign Manager is James Williams.
Nancy’s motto is “Every town needs a clown.” She pledges to not take herself too seriously, to do her best to bring smiles, and to spread joy and laughter. According to Nancy,”If you don’t laugh with me, you can laugh at me!”
Destiny Tavares is raising funds for the Burney Annex. Her Campaign Manager is Bobi Jo Bronsert. Jolie George is also helping to manage her campaign.
Destiny says that “with a swish & flick of her wand, Burney would be the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Johnson Park would be no more, instead Hogwarts’s will exist, Nimbus 2000 Broomsticks and Floo Powder for traveling for everyone!”
Destiny’s charming personality brings a special magic to her campaign.
James Glaser is raising funds for the Lions Diabetic Camp at Camp McCumber. Funds raised will be specifically designated by the Lions 4-C1 Health Foundation to support the Camp for Children with Diabetes. Jim’s Campaign manager is Alex Colvin.
Jim cheerfully pledges “to bring a high speed rail from Burney to Disneyland.” Children will be able to fast-track to Disneyland and who knows, maybe Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck will come to see Burney Falls. catch some fish, and swim in Lake Britton.
Three wonderful candidates and three noble causes. This is a campaign in which everyone wins!
