Oh how fun it is to slosh through the mud

The August 2 Mud Race at Bailey Park was a thrilling conclusion to this year’s Kid-Fit Program run by Tri Counties Community Network. Over one hundred children participated in the event.

Ages 1-5 were the first to run, assisted by their parents. Then the older kids came. What began as a simple run through muddy water got progressively more muddy as time went by. Tri Counties Community Network Director Cindy Dodds was there cheering the children on. Some went through the mud as many as 7 times.

After emerging from his first run through the mud, young Benjamin Moss exclaimed, This is great! I could do this all day!”

It was definitely an exhilarating way to cool off after a hot day.

After the mud races, each participant got a medal.

In addition to the mud races, there were other fun activities in the park. When all was done, Dana Hauge and Shaylene Herndon, co-coordinators of the Kid-Fit program, handed out lots of cool prizes.
