On Thursday October 27 at 11 a.m., there will be a special reading event at the Burney Public Library. Instead of the regular Preschool Storytime on Wednesday October 26, Burney Public Library will be participating in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record.
On that day, millions of children will help set a new world record for reading with children. In addition to the regular story time and craft, the children will also receive a free book, The Bear Ate Your Sandwich, written by Julia Sarcone-Roach. The books will provided by First 5 Shasta.
The Read for the Record in Shasta County is being co-sponsored of Jumpstart, Take 10, First 5 Shasta, and the Shasta Public Libraries.
The Redding Library will also be participating in Read for the Record at 10:30 a.m. The Anderson Library will be participating at 3:30 p.m.
