Give back to the community and build skills with MHSA volunteer program

From Shasta County Health and Human Services

SHASTA COUNTY – Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? Have you ever wondered if a career in the public mental health field is right for you? If the answer to either of these questions is ‘yes’, then consider getting involved with the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Volunteer Program.

The Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for individuals to enrich their lives and the lives of others while receiving hands-on training, education and orientation into the public mental health field. A comprehensive training program is also available to eligible individuals interested in becoming volunteer peer mentors and/or developing skills necessary for entry-level positions.

Participants may choose to volunteer occasionally at community events and/or on a more regular basis.
