For me, the first day of winter this year is November 19. I woke up at 6 a.m. It was raining.
As I sat at my desk and looked out the window at about 7.am., I saw big white flakes of wet snow pouring down from the sky. It was heavy snow and it quickly trimmed the trees and covered the ground.
I took Linda over to the Burney Elementary craft show, took some pictures, went home to post them and encourage people to come out, stopped by the casino and Burney Coffee company to get a friend a pumpkin spice latte, and then returned to the craft show for some more pictures and a cup of delicious Toscanini Zupa.
Then I visited the VFW ladies auxiliary indoor yard sale for some pictures. I hadn’t had time to take pictures of the winter grandeur, so I pulled over into the Safeway parking lot to shoot some shots.
By the time I did, the snow had turned to a cold rain but I still was able to capture a few images of the first snowfall in Burney this year.
I always love stopping at the bridge over Burney Creek on Park when it snows.
That night and the next morning there was fog and rain. But after church, the sun emerged and there was a beautiful rainbow.
God is showing us that everything is just right.
