On January 25, a community meeting intended to explore strategies to reduce poverty in the Intermountain Area will be held at the Intermountain Community Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
This will be one of two meetings that will be held in the County by the Shasta County Housing and Community Action Partnership to identify needs that are not being met and develop a plan to address those needs.
Everyone is invited to attend. Cindy Dodds, director of Tri Counties Community Network said she hopes the senior dining room will be filled with people who are willing to talk about this issue and share their personal points of view, including
- People who are struggling with the challenges of poverty;
- People who have emerged from poverty and likely have some interesting stories to tell; and
- People who work with folks how are challenged by poverty.
The event is family friendly. There will be activities for children and food, Call 530-335-4600 for more information.
