Jill Daugherty is running for 2017 Honorary Mayor of Burney. She came to the Meet the Candidates event in Bailey Park and turned in her registration form on April 1.
Jill is raising money for The Burney Citizens Patrol.
Her campaign motto is “Shine the light on crime .”
She would like to “help keep Burney safe.”
Jill has a donation box at TriCounties Bank. Every dollar donated counts as one vote. You can vote as many times and as much as you want. This is an election that money can buy.
Jill joins six candidates, Shaylene Herndon, Mary Frances Unterreiner, Anna Denny, Ralph Freitas, James Glaser, and Dana Hauge in the race for Honorary Mayor.
The Honorary Mayors race is a fun and creative way to raise money for non-profit charities. Whoever raises the most money wins. Money raised will be divided between the candidates chosen charities and the Burney Chamber of Commerce.
The winner of the 2017 Honorary Mayor of Burney race will be announced at the Ice Cream Social June 29, ride in the Burney Basin Days parade, and be honored at the Burney Fireworks program on Saturday July 1. The mayor will also choose the winner of the “Mayor’s Choice Award” for the parade. During the year, the Honorary Mayor will have the opportunity to represent the town of Burney at public events in Burney and other towns.
