On September 12, eleven people spoke to the Shasta County Board of Supervisors regarding the release of funds that the County has appropriated for a new building for the Burney Library. This video shows the entire portion of the Board of Supervisors regarding the library.
Friends of the Intermountain Library (FOIL) has developed a plan for the purchase and renovation of a building on Main Street to house the library and expand library services for the intermountain Area.
Seven speakes from the Intermountain area made the trip to Redding to present the case for release of the funds. Four other speakers from the Redding area who have reviewed the plan developed by FOIL also spoke.
Afterwards the four County Supervisors who were present gave comments.
The Board then passed a motion to make the issue of funding for the Burney library an action item at a future regular meeting.
