From Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association
Fall is approaching and we are working again this year with John Poimiroo, the editor and publisher of californiafallcolor.com to increase tourism to the Shasta Cascade region highlighting the region’s fall foliage. If you would like to be one of our ‘Color Spotters’ this year or know someone who would like to participate, please submit high res photos it me via email every Monday of the leaves changing in a specific area for this fall season. Specific guidelines for submissions are below.
As in years past, the photographers will receive photo credits when John uses their photo on his California Fall Color website which is now one of the most visited fall color websites in the US with 90,000 readers who are avid travelers.
Below is the information I will need with each photo when you email them to me each week on Monday. Please note it is very important the photos emailed are taken on a day or two prior to emailing them. Photos more than 2 days old will not be published since the photos are being used to show what percentage of fall color is currently in the area for ‘leaf peepers’ to plan their trips to view fall color.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing your photos this year.
Information required with each photo:
– % change (see chart below)
– Exact location
– Date of photo (must be taken no more than a couple days prior to submission)
– Species of trees (must be indigenous not ornamental trees)
– Colors seen
– High-res photographs
Thank you,
